Accessibility Plan 2026 to 2029
This three-year plan sits under the Equality Act duty to plan for accessibility. Progress is reviewed at least annually by the Headteacher and SEND lead, and actions are adjusted when a student, parent or visitor need is identified.
| Area | Action | Owner | By when | Success criteria |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Curriculum | Maintain student support notes and adaptive teaching so every learner can access the taught offer, including exam access arrangements where entitled | Sacha (Quality of Education and SEND) | Ongoing; full review each summer term | Students with disabilities or SEND participate in the curriculum with evidence of progress on support plans |
| Curriculum | Train all teaching and mentoring staff annually on adaptive teaching and reasonable adjustments | Sacha with Headteacher | By end of each autumn term | Training recorded; learning walks show adjustments in use |
| Physical environment | Complete an accessibility walk of each delivery site at least annually and log barriers with temporary mitigations | Lloyd (Centre Manager) | Annually, plus on opening any new site | Written log held; mitigations agreed before students use a restricted area |
| Physical environment | Agree reasonable site improvements with landlords and partners where permanent change is practicable | Lloyd (Centre Manager) | Within one term of a barrier being logged as high priority | Barriers reduced or alternative safe access provided |
| Information | Provide policy and family information in accessible formats (for example large print, plain language, or alternative electronic format) within five working days of a reasonable request | Amy (Pastoral, Student Services and HR) | Ongoing | Requests logged and met, or a clear timescale agreed |
| Information | Keep website and key parent-facing pages readable on mobile devices and in clear language | Leadership Team | Reviewed each policy cycle | Feedback and spot-checks show content can be used without unnecessary barriers |
Parents, carers, students and commissioners may request the latest accessibility walk notes or raise a barrier by emailing admin@evolution-sportsgroup.com. Complaints about accessibility follow the Complaints Policy.
Monitoring
The Leadership Team monitors implementation through learning walks, safeguarding reviews, incident analysis, staff feedback, student voice and commissioner feedback. Findings inform training and school improvement planning.
