Procedures
Identification
Needs may be identified through referral information, EHCPs or support plans, presentation and engagement patterns, Thrive and related assessments, attendance and emotional regulation indicators. Emerging needs are shared with the parent school so identification and next steps remain collaborative.
Graduated approach
Support follows Assess, Plan, Do, Review. Strategies are reviewed regularly and adapted to each student's needs, capacity and progress.
Reasonable adjustments
Adjustments may include adapted learning approaches, small-group or one-to-one teaching, flexible timetables, movement and regulation breaks, sensory adjustments, quiet spaces, mentoring and key-worker support, and structured routines. Adjustments are recorded in the Student Passport, IEP where applicable, Reintegration Plan (KS3) or Destination Plan (KS4).
Curriculum pathways
Students access a personalised curriculum which may include tailored KS3 and KS4 learning, digital core learning tools, unit awards, vocational pathways, PSHE and wellbeing education, and sport-based engagement.
EHCPs
Where a student has an EHCP, Evolution Education implements the plan strategies, monitors progress and engagement, shares evidence with the parent school and Local Authority, and supports annual reviews. Concerns about EHCP provision are escalated to the parent school SENCO.
Safeguarding and partnership
Students with SEND may be more vulnerable to safeguarding risks. Concerns follow the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. Staff work with parents, parent schools, Local Authority SEND teams and relevant professionals. Concerns about SEND provision may be raised with the Centre Manager or via the Complaints Policy at admin@evolution-sportsgroup.com.
Monitoring
This policy is reviewed annually. Oversight is provided by the Chief Executive Officer, Centre Manager, and (where applicable) Mayesbrook Park School governance and Local Authority Alternative Provision monitoring. Last reviewed: January 2026.

This policy is reviewed at least annually, or sooner following changes in legislation, statutory guidance, or significant incidents. Next formal review: January 2027. Approved by the Proprietor / Leadership Team.
