Purpose
To enable staff and others to raise serious concerns about wrongdoing safely and without fear of detriment, including safeguarding failures, and to meet KCSIE and good governance expectations.
Scope
Employees, agency staff, volunteers, contractors and others working with Evolution Education.
Definitions
Whistleblowing means reporting suspected wrongdoing or dangers in relation to the organisation's activities, including criminal offences, failure to comply with legal obligations, miscarriages of justice, health and safety risks, damage to the environment, or deliberate concealment of any of these.
Responsibilities
- Leaders foster a culture where concerns can be raised early.
- Staff should report concerns through the channels below.
- The organisation will investigate appropriately and protect whistleblowers from
victimisation for raising genuine concerns.
Procedures
Internal reporting
Concerns should normally be raised with a line manager, the Centre Manager, the DSL (for safeguarding) or the Chief Executive Officer. Email: admin@evolution-sportsgroup.com.
Safeguarding concerns about adults
Allegations or low-level concerns about adults are managed under the Low-Level Concerns Policy, Staff Code of Conduct and KCSIE Part 4 processes, including referral to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) where required.
External reporting
Where a person reasonably believes internal reporting is inappropriate or has not been addressed, they may contact the Local Authority, LADO, police, NSPCC whistleblowing helpline, or other prescribed bodies as applicable.
Confidentiality and protection
Concerns are handled sensitively. Victimisation of whistleblowers is not tolerated. Malicious false allegations may lead to disciplinary action.
Monitoring
The Leadership Team monitors implementation through learning walks, safeguarding reviews, incident analysis, staff feedback, student voice and commissioner feedback. Findings inform training and school improvement planning.

This policy is reviewed at least annually, or sooner following changes in legislation, statutory guidance, or significant incidents. Next formal review:

Legislation and guidance
This policy has regard to the Education (Independent School Standards)
Regulations 2014, Keeping Children Safe in Education (latest DfE edition), Working Together to Safeguard Children, the Equality Act 2010, the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, and other DfE statutory and non-statutory guidance relevant to the subject of this policy. Where Independent School registration is completed, this policy will be reviewed against any updated registration conditions and DfE requirements.
