Curriculum intent
Year 8 deepens literacy, numeracy and scientific thinking while building independence, teamwork and personal responsibility. Adaptive teaching continues from each learner starting point.

Seven ISS areas of learning
Every year-group plan is designed so learners experience linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical, and aesthetic and creative education through the mix of core and enrichment above, adapted to ages and aptitudes.
Assessment and evaluation
Ongoing formative assessment, end-of-unit checks, engagement and attendance tracking, personal learning plan review each half term.

Adaptive teaching
Teaching follows the Adaptive Teaching Policy and individual support plans. Schemes of work for each subject set end points and weekly sequences. Pitch, scaffolds and challenge are matched to starting points, not a single year-group ceiling.
