We work with Do The Mic Thing
Steve Eusebe and Do The Mic Thing lead mentoring through music at Evolution Education. Songwriting, production and performance give young people a real way to be heard, feel better and grow confidence they can use in and out of school.
Purpose
Do The Mic Thing is a London music mentoring organisation led by Steve Eusebe. Through songwriting, music production, singing and live performance, young people explore feelings, build skill and leave sessions proud of something they made.
At Evolution Education, Steve and Do The Mic Thing lead mentoring via music therapy as part of our wider offer. Music becomes a trusted route into confidence, focus and self-belief, standing alongside sport, classroom learning and everyday Key Adult support.

At Evolution
Sessions are practical and personal. Young people write, produce, record and perform with professional guidance in a calm, respectful space where every voice matters.
The goal is bigger than a finished track. Learners practise speaking up, collaborating, managing pressure and finishing work they are proud of, habits that transfer into lessons, pathways and life after Evolution.
Parents see a creative outlet that supports wellbeing. Schools and local authorities see structured mentoring that engages young people who connect through sound, words and performance. Students get what many have been waiting for: a mic, a studio mindset and adults who take their music seriously.
Benefits for students
Make original music, share your story safely and leave sessions feeling capable, not talked at. Confidence grows track by track.
A warm, skilled mentor uses music to open conversation, reduce pressure and help your child feel listened to and valued.
Music mentoring joins our pastoral and enrichment offer as a concrete way to boost engagement, self-expression and emotional wellbeing without losing high expectations.
Programmes
Do The Mic Thing brings professional studio know-how into school life.
Lyric writing, singing and personal storytelling that help young people name what matters and be proud of their words.
Beat-making, recording and performance craft that reward focus, collaboration and the buzz of finishing a track.
Steve Eusebe leads sessions so music becomes the bridge into mentoring, regulation and self-belief, not a bolt-on activity.
