Curriculum intent

Why our curriculum exists

We design learning so every young person can settle, rebuild academic confidence, grow as a person and prepare for a strong next step.

Educational philosophy

Relationships first, then ambitious learning

Young people learn best when they feel safe, respected and known. Our educational philosophy puts strong adult relationships at the centre, then builds high expectations around each learner's starting point.

Sport is a distinctive strength. It helps young people engage, practise teamwork and experience success that transfers into classroom learning.

How intent becomes practice

Four pillars of our curriculum intent

Personalised learning

Baseline assessment shapes a personal plan. Teaching, mentoring and enrichment are adapted so progress is realistic and ambitious.

Calm, relational practice

Adults help young people feel settled enough to learn. Expectations are clear, responses are consistent, and repair matters after setbacks.

Academic and vocational balance

Literacy and numeracy sit alongside vocational options, sport pathways and personal development so routes stay open.

Preparing for life

Careers guidance, independence skills and positive destinations are part of the curriculum, not an afterthought.

Connected aims
