Literacy and reading
Phonics, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary work for young people who have gaps after disrupted schooling.
Evolution Education
Interventions
Alongside lessons, sport and mentoring, we use short, targeted interventions so barriers to learning do not become permanent barriers to progress.
Interventions sit inside personal plans. We use baseline information, teacher knowledge, family insight and, where relevant, education health and care plan outcomes to decide what will help most.
Support is time-limited, reviewed, and adapted. The aim is not endless small groups; it is quicker access to mainstream learning with confidence growing.
Types of support
Support is matched to the young person. Not every learner needs every strand. Reviews decide what stays, what changes and what ends.
Phonics, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary work for young people who have gaps after disrupted schooling.
Focused sessions that secure the skills needed to rejoin the main lesson confidently.
One-to-one and small-group mentoring for settling, attendance, friendships and everyday problem-solving.
Practical coaching for managing feelings, using calm strategies and returning to learning when ready.
Structured physical activity and coaching that rebuild attendance, energy for learning and positive peer teamwork.
Creative mentoring through music with Do The Mic Thing: a route into confidence, expression and belonging alongside everyday Key Adult support.
Where it fits the plan, platforms such as Purple Ruler and Academy21 support personalised academic catch-up under staff oversight.
Where learners sit external assessments, we plan reasonable adjustments early with the assessments process.
Transition support back to school, college, training or another agreed pathway.
Where specialist external support is needed, we work with families and professionals through proper channels rather than inventing a parallel clinical service.
